- The Egyptian People Really Are A Teacher To Anyone Who Wishes To Learn -

Hi everyone from sunny Hurghada. The weather has been hot today compared with the cool days we were having. We went from sweaters to t-shirts overnight. Jason finally got his shave and haircut from an Arab barber today. He likes to have a haircut in every Arab country as they are the masters. I also had my eyebrows and face threaded. It's so soft, I can hardly believe it. Maya and I poked around in a few shops where she met a little Egyptian boy. She was so happy to see him and he was so shy! Everywhere we go the Egyptians are talking to her, kissing her and waving to her. She definitely has celebrity status here because she is blond and blue eyed.

For the most part, we've been lounging around our friend's villa. It has a great garden patio, swimming pool, bbq area and best of all - a hookah! There is a boab here that makes our bed and tidies our room every morning. He also washes our laundry, cleans the kitchen and makes my hookah. I'm starting to wonder why we ever left!

Yesterday we went to El Gouna where we revisited our favourite bakery - The Seventh Star. The desserts are still outstanding and we could hardly choose which one to get. We sat in the Marina, sipped our cappuccinos and savoured our chocolate desserts. Dad, you really missed out! We were thinking of you the whole time we were there. I kept telling Maya that this was Grandpa's favourite place!

We took Maya to the beach and she loved playing in the sand and water. While we were sitting at the beach, we got hungry. So Injy used her mobile phone to call McDonalds. A few minutes later, our Big Mac combos arrived! Can you believe it??!! McDonalds has delivery here and it was piping hot.

Last but not least, we went to the new marina here in Hurghada with one of my good friends and ate camel. It was excellent. I had the camel and Jason ate ostrich. The ostrich was quite tasty and believe it or not, it did not taste like chicken!

Jason will be posting photos later today. Hope you enjoy.

With love from the Red Sea,
Jason, Kareena and Maya

Wow, sounds like you're having an amazing time! We miss you lots though, and can't wait til you get back! I'm so glad Maya is doing well...what a blessing! I wish I could see her there :)
Lauren is doing much better now...not nearly as many melt downs, and is in general a happier person...when you guys have your 2nd child, you'll be amazed at the difference in Maya...you're left wondering where your sweet happy little girl went, and who the monster is! Hope that doesn't scare you too much ;)
Joshua is getting chubby now!!! He's also smiling alot and is starting to make cooing sounds...so cute! I'm just waiting for him to wake up for his next feed, then it's off to bed! I'm so exhausted, I'm falling asleep on the keyboard here lol!
Anyways, just thought I'd touch base with you guys...take care of yourselves!
lots of love, K
